9 months!

Dearest little o, this weekend marked your 9 month birthday! Oh how can it be?? This weekend you also caught your first cold, but you are a good sport and still want to clap and smile, but it is so sad to see you hurting:(

Before you started your sniffles and coughs, we went to the huntington Library with Nana Kathy, Daddy and and Lisa. I think you liked the succulents best:)

Tres Belle

I take countless shots of you everyday...you must think I am like the paparazzi at times. It's just that I cant keep up with how fast you change...move...grow, my dear o! Your mood changes day to day. You could be wild and fussy one day and peaceful and content the next. You keep me on my toes little o. I thought this photo really captured the spirit of today, and as Nana Kathy says-you have such expressive hands.

styrofoam and worms...oh my!

little o and I started a new weekly class! It's called Outside The Box. It is an educational play group that incorporates singing, musical instruments, language, balls, a variety of different sensory activities and infant massage. Today we placed them into a pile of corn based "styrofoam" and rubber/stretchy worms-all to help them feel the textures and it was also a social activity for them. Sounds strange-but it was so much fun-all the babes seemed to enjoy it-and surprisingly enough, not too many of them wanted to eat it!

swingin at the park

little o loves the park-she likes to look up at the trees and watch all of the older kids run and play! Today I put her in the swing for the first time. At first she started to laugh then relaxation mode kicked in and she decided to just lean back and take it all in....

Blueberry squish!

Back when little o turned about 5 1/2 months, I decided it was time time for her to have a taste of some real solid foods -- pureed of course:) While I purchased all the appropriate little spoons and little bowls, I also bought a mesh teether. You can put a variety of whole foods inside the mesh pouch and she can get a taste of the food, as it is "strained" through the mesh, so it's safe for her eat. I kept it in the cabinet until recently, only because I couldn't decide what to put in! I've heard ice, frozen veggies or breast milk, bananas or grapes were all good choices. Finally I bought some yummy blueberries at the farmers market and decided that would be the first item she would try in her mesh. She loved it. Although she puckered her lips after the first taste, she kept going back for more....and it wasn't as messy as I anticipated-which is always a plus while out and about with baby.

Fun at the park

I love how much you enjoy the fresh air and green trees-especially when the leaves wave in the breeze....

so much movement

My dearest little o,
My you are ready for action! You are just about ready to crawl. I just read that right before your baby begins to crawl, they will be on all fours, rocking back and forth-this is where you are at now. You also discovered that you can use one leg to pivot all around in a circle-very clever, my dear. You are determined and so fierce! Now mama's gotta go baby proof the house-oi!
